Amber Hutchinson

Amber Rénelle Hutchinson is the Development Associate at the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation.  In this position, she is responsible for assisting the Development Director with fund development, fundraising, special events, marketing and public relations.
 
Amber’s background extends from her involvement in state government and politics.  Working in the executive office of Louisiana Attorney General Richard Ieyoub, Amber built upon her experience of coordinating and scheduling meetings and conferences, gathering and booking travel arrangements and other communication, organization and management skills.  After working at the Attorney General’s office, Amber continued to build upon her acquired skills and began working in the executive offices of Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu and in the Secretary’s office of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Angéle Davis.  As Program Assistant, Amber coordinated numerous events and meetings for the Foundation as well as taking on other office management skills all which she will apply as development associate.

Born and raised in the state of Louisiana, Amber views the rebuilding and recovery process vital for the city of New Orleans and for southern Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  This opportunity to work with the Foundation will allow her to give back and work indirectly and directly with those individuals who are in dire need of assistance.

Amber grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as the oldest child of Don and Pam Hutchinson.  She has one brother, Elliot.  She attended St. Joseph’s Academy for her high school degree.  She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science along with a minor in Mass Communications and a minor in African and African-American Studies.
